Make Congress Work for Constituants Not Personal Gain
Overturn Citizens United
Running for office should not cost a fortune and the focus of elections and legislating should be policy and not who raised the most money. Requiring candidates to outraise opponents to prove their electability only invites corruption and divided loyalties. We need congress focused on voters needs not fundraising and seeking support from PAC's . Corporations are not people.
Ban Congressional Stock Trading
Congressional members should not be allowed to trade stocks. This creates a conflict of interest and allows congress to enrich themselves. Members of congress are civil servants and should behave as such. The focus should be solely on protecting voters and not personal gain.
Defend Our Rights
Upholding an oath to the constitution means taking
a stand against an executive and judicial branch that
iare causing harm to our citizens. Congress is a co equal branch of government and should reclaim their power to legislate and limit executive and judicial overreach.
Make Honesty a Requirement
Lying in politics has become the accepted norm. When policicians are allowed to lie without consequence, it erodes trust completely. We can change that and demand honesty and accountability. We can pass legislation to enforce a code of ethics so our leaders are accuntable for following through on promises.
